Reference materials include census records and Soundex, Revolutionary War and Confederate veterans rosters, city directories, local yearbooks, local newspapers back to 1868, the Georgia Death Index, county histories and the Official Records of the Confederate and Union Armies. org.

Newton Commons: A special reference collection of documents called the Newton Commons are also available for use. These are grant applications with supporting documentation that have been submitted by area agencies with greater detail on each application found in the PINES Catalog.
