Board Of Trustees
The Newton County Library Board of Trustees is an eight member body that governs the Newton County Library System. Members of the Board are appointed by the local governmental agencies that financially support the Library. The Library Board provides governance for the library system by setting policies, providing budget oversight and planning for future service initiatives. The land, buildings, equipment and materials of the library system are under the governmental authority of the Newton County Library Board of Trustees.
Meeting Schedule
The Newton County Library Board of Trustees meets on the first Thursday of each quarter at 4:30 PM in the E. E. “Buck” Callaway Room at the Covington Branch location, unless otherwise noted. All meetings are open to the public. The dates for the calendar year 2024 are:
